This document is intended to provide guidance for appropriate supervision of thesis for research participants (participant), main supervisors, co-supervisors and external supervisor (if applicable) for masters degrees that have a major research project component.
Participants are reminded that compliance with the degree regulations and the quality of their work is ultimately their responsibility. The role of the supervisor and co-supervisor is to assist them to achieve the best research results of which they are capable.
A co-operative relationship between the participant and the supervisor/s helps to ensure a rewarding and productive research program. Please do not use the GDRSC Master’s Thesis Guidelines as your only source of information for preparing your project. In addition to the GDRSC Master’s Thesis Guidelines, a style guide appropriate to the discipline must be selected.
